Skips being placed in motorcycle designated parking in the new ARC car park BSE.
These skips have been left in the MC parking for quite a while and i (Babs) for one had enough of them. i emailed an complaint to the ARC Sunday 26th July mentioning that if they arent dealt with I was going to involve the media = negative media for the nice new shiney ARC.

Monday (27/7/09) i get home to a reply.. as follows

"Thanks for your email regarding the motorcycle parking area which Paul Haynes from Arc sent over to me.

I am very sorry that you and other bikers were inconvenienced by the loss of spaces in the special motorcycle parking area on the weekend. Unfortunately the area has been identified as the only area within the car park where a pair of skips can be located to enable ongoing construction work - this is because a normal parking bay cannot take the weight of a laden skip and the motorcycle area is concrete based.

Thanks to your feedback we have reserved some additional parking bays opposite the motorcycle area for the exclusive use of motorcycles during this temporary period of disruption. These bays will be signed and coned to prevent cars occupying the bays and will be free of charge to motorcycles. I would ask that you and your group only occupy these designated bays and, of course, remaining parking space in the dedicated motorcycle parking area.

I am contacting the keyholder of the motorcycle bulletin board so that we can organise moving it to a more convenient area where it won't be obscured by the fencing round the skips.

I have asked Mr Findlay to also print this reply and post it inside the bulletin board just in case anyone gets lip from the parking warden.

2/8/09 UPDATE........
We used the MC parking in the ARC today, there was no where to secure the bikes as all the achors had been used or had bikes next to them. NO spaces have been set aside as promised (see email above), no parking atendants to ask.

The next stage is being set!

WE HAVE SCORES A GOAL!
I used the ARC car park this eve and can CONFIRM they have now stuck to their promises and allocated THREE spaces opposite the normal bike parking, these new bays are free to use and are signed for motorcycle parking only. The bulletin board has been moved out from behind the fencing.

Now we only wonder how long these skips will be dumped in the normal parking for.
